Natural
Resource Management

MSS believes that holistic development of interior tribal
villages of southern Rajasthan depends on water, which is the basic constituent
for Human endurance. Ground water as well as surface water needs sustainable
management to make water available for everyone. Increasing overexploitation
of ground water resource could easily threaten future food security and result
in economic crisis. In the present year we focused on the successful implementation
of Watershed projects.
MSS worked for the NRM and livelihood generation in the nearly in 34 villages.
Total physical works related to the watershed have been done in the 7 villages
in an area covering 2738 hectare’s and total families benefited are
850. The main SWC activities are field bunding, construction of Gully plugs,
Check Dams, Gabions, Anicut, Vegetative Gully plugs, Postural Land developments,
Construction of Ponds etc.
