INNOVATIONS AND SUSTAINABILITY
Development is ever changing and best concepts are to be introduced
in the fields for suiting the changing situations. The amalgamation of the
technologies must be encouraged and tested for better effectiveness. MSS
is involved in experiments and innovations in rural area for improvements
in its quality and area of work. The new concepts introduced in the area
are –
• Model center for Learning the ecosystem
• Bal Panchayat
• Linkage of SHGs with cooperatives
• Mukti Ashram for peace and learning
• Traditional medicinal Cure Center
• Support and Resource center
Model center for Learning the ecosystem
MSS has developed a model centers for tribal children, where they learn
about resource management, social set-up gender balance and community aspects.
The center forms a platform for various educational research and innovations
in livelihood.
Bal Panchayat
Right to participation is one of the vital rights of the any human
kind. If a child is involved in the day-to-day matter of his/ her environment
it helps to develop the overall personality of the children. Therefore MSS
takes its imperative to introduce the participation of child in the functioning
of PRIs system in our country. From a very early times if the child is aware
and participates in the different aspects of the Panchayati Raj Institution,
it helps him to develop hios senses on the same. A child’s active
involvement will not only help to know the whole process but also help in
a better planning of the works in any level. Nevertheless the child’s
participation will also help in the strengthening of the PRIs system.
Taking this into consideration, MSS has initiated the formation of BAl Panchayat
in the area through which a children groups are being promoted for the formation
of a model bal Panchayat.
Linkage of SHGs with cooperatives
MSS has been involved in promotion of income generation with Self-Help
Groups and formation of cooperatives and village groups. Four-year back
MSS supported the formation of “Bhader Adiwasi Van Upaj and Tendu
Patta Sangrahan Sahkari Samiti, ltd. Birothi (Cooperative) whereby the purchase
and sale of the locally available MFP could take place in a fair manner.
Mukti Ashram for peace and learning
In the calm and natural environment of Manpur, part of Phulwari
ki Nal sanctuary area MSS has started a reference center as ”Mukti
Ashram”. It is the Vision of MSS that this center becomes a place
where tribal community will get freedom from darkness of illiteracy, lack
of knowledge and social bindings over them. MSS is developing a unique Organic-
Herbal Garden in its Mukti Ashram which is center to act as demonstration,
training and research exposure and learning for the larger mass and the
local villagers. Mukti ashram consists of –
Demonstration Of Nutrient Cycle
Demonstration of organic pactices(liquid manure, leaf manure, vermin compost,
decompost, neem pesticides. Green manure)
Demonstration of watershed structures Herbal garden – Dharma bagichi.
The center has moderate facilities in the form of training hall, lodging
and boarding facilities for 50 people along with modern training equipments.
Traditional Medicinal Cure Center
MSS is the first to initiate the Traditional Medicinal Cure center
(TMCC) in the area. Identified herbal experts (men and women) are given
guidance and support for promoting the herbal medicinal cure instead of
modern, expensive allopathic medicines. It also helps in preservation and
conservation of immense bio diversity of the area
Support and Resource center
Over the year by virtue of its deeper involvements in the development
issues MSS has developed its own internal experiences, knowledge and skills.
A separate wing has been created for providing support services to the new
grassroots voluntary organizations working on common issues. The wing also
works for the sharing of information and resources among the civil society
organizations.
